A-Frame Trailer Jack Recommendation for a Mallard Hoppy Camper
Question:
I have an unknown year Mallard Hoppy camper. It weighs 2500 lbs. Which trailer jack will work for me? I would like a side wind one since i have problems with my shoulders and im female and would like something really easy . The existing one is 11inch from the plate to the bottom of the wheel, and it is 13 1/2 inch from the plate to the top of the existing one. I would also like to know what tire I should get to make moving this camper easier. I will attempt to attach pics of existing. I have to back my vehicle up on wood blocks 2 inch to get it high enough to hook on and it just clears it. I did measure from the ground to the top of the 2 inch ball while the hitch is on my car. Its 15 1/2 inches I would need this new one to be to just clear the ball for hooking up. Thank you for any help!

The jack that I recommend for you is the Bulldog Round Sidewind A-Frame Jack, # BD1550101344. This jack has a weight capacity of 1,200 lb when you use the recommended wheel caster, # PS1400750340, which is more than enough for your trailer. This jack has a retracted height of approximately 13 inches with the wheel attached and 7 inches without the wheel. You may not be able to tow with the wheel attached, but you will have more ground clearance than the Atwood jack and the wheel is easy to remove using the included snapper pin.
This jack will provide enough room to hook up to your vehicle without the need to use the wood blocks.
