Bolt Hole Spacing of Curt C13900 Multi Fit Class III Hitch

Question:

Hi, Im looking at this Curt Universal hitch for my 1996 Geo Tracker. I realize the Tracker is not rated to tow a lot of weight, which is probably why all the custom fit hitches are 1-1/4inch Class I. For me, I dont intend to tow with mine at all, but I do need a 2inch receiver for my e-bike rack. With my current hitch the class I mentioned above, the tongue weight is fine, its just the receiver size that is the problem. The bike rack manufacturer doesnt recommend using an extension due to the extra weight of the e-bikes and additional torsion. So Im kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. So my question about this hitch is whether it would fit, not so much if it is the appropriate class, if that makes sense. In other words, I dont ever plan to exceed the ability of the vehicle itself. From everything I see, it looks like it would work. My frame is 32inch and the on my current hitch is 7. I cant find any diagram that shows what the pre-drilled holes on the brackets are set at. My current set up has bolts that are 4inch apart. Many thanks!

The Curt # C13900 is width adjustable, determined by where the bolts are installed in the crossbar of the hitch. If the hitch is assembled in its narrowest orientation as explained on page 3 of the linked instructions, it'll fit on frames that are from 31-33-1/2 inches in width. This orientation would compatible with the 32 inch frame width, however you might need to drill holes in the underside of the frame for the mounting hardware.

The drop of the hitch is 7 inches, which is the distance between the top of the hitch crossbar and the mounting flange surface that would mount to the underside of the vehicle's frame member. If you measure the vertical distance from the underside of the frame members where the hitch mounts downward until you clear the lowest spot on the back bumper and that distance is less than 7 inches, the hitch would work for you.

I've provided a photo showing the center to center distance between the hitch mounting bolt holes.
