Which Code to Follow to Install Trailer Wiring Harness C59496 on a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Im looking at the instructions for this kit and it says in Step 1: See catalog or website for vehicle code definitions and further information. This is to determine which steps to take. I could not find any references to determine this. I have a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI.

The information that step 1 is referring to is actually right there below it. You will have to determine if your 2013 VW Jetta SportWagen is a 2 or 3 wire system based on the definitions in the instructions below step 1. I found that your Jetta SportWagen is a 3-wire, BP system. According to the instructions then it would be wired according to the diagram in the instructions. I have also reproduced it here.
