getting mixed up with which wiring kit I need for my car. 2012 Jetta sportwagen.

There isn't a plug and play option available for your Jetta SportWagen, but a hardwired converter/harness like part # C59496 would work great for you. The harness would be tapped into the vehicle's taillight circuits which you'd access behind the taillight assemblies. The kit includes a circuit tester to help you determine which wire carries which taillight function.
