5th Wheel And Gooseneck Hitch Option For A 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 With No OEM Pucks

Question:

Hello I have a 2016 gmc 2500hd with a 6-1/2 bed. The truck has a 6” lift kit, which I know isn’t ideal for hauling 5th wheels but I got such a good deal that it is worth dealing with the headache. It did not come with a prep package so I need to purchase and install one. I need the ability to haul gooseneck trailers as well. So I was looking at purchasing the combo kit that has the gooseneck under bed bracket and ball with the bandw slider hitch that adapts to the gooseneck mount. After watching the install video the hitch seems to sit rather high and doesn’t seem to have much height adjustment. If the bed at the axel is about 5” taller than it would be if it were stock, am I going to have issues? Should I look at getting a different hitch? Thanks!

As long as your truck doesn't have a body lift, meaning the bed is further away from the truck's frame than stock, you should be fine.

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W with the installation kit # BWGNRK1016-5W is exactly what you need.

This hitch has a maximum towing capacity of 20,000-lbs, has 3 height setting adjustments to ensure your 5th wheel is as level as possible, and when the 5th wheel is removed, will provide a connection point for a goose ball.
