Troubleshooting Mushy Rear Suspension on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder With Air Lift Air Bags
Question:
previous owner of my 05 pathfinder off road se installed what looks like your airlift 1000 also put a 2 or 2.5 lift on front end my passenger side rear air bag wont hold air thinking of replacing but it seems like bags need to have constant 40 to 45 psi or vehicle feels mushy is it ok to have bags at that constant pressure for daily driving without hauling a trailer thank you

Expert Reply:
The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60810 for the rear suspension on your 2005 Nissan Pathfinder have a maximum air pressure rating of 35psi. This should not be exceeded or it will likely cause damage to the air bags and could also damage part of the suspension system. With the suspension feeling mushy without additional weight you should have the springs and shocks checked out to ensure they are functioning properly with no damage to the mounts.
