Bolt On Trailer Hitch Receiver That Fits a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited For Hauling a Boat trailer

Question:

I am buying a 2021 jeep wrangler unlimited and I just want to confirm that the installation of your hitch on this vehicle can be done with no drilling of holes and it is a bolt on installation. I am trying to compare buying one without a hitch vs buying on with which is much more expensive. I will be pulling a boat with a GVW of approx. 2500 lbs. I know some vehicles are easier to install as hitch at home and some are not. Thanks

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98856 is confirmed to fit all models of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the exception being those with eco diesel engines. It is a no drill applications but there have been some rare instances where a piece of welding slag may need to be broken off or drilled to get all the bolts to fit properly. The weight capacity is 350lbs tongue weight and 3,500lbs trailer weight which will be enough for your 2,500lb boat. Be sure to verify that your Wrangler does not have a lower tow rating from Jeep, and if so use the lower number as your maximum towing capability.

The Curt Ball Mount # C45064 which is only 9-1/4" long from the receiver pin to ball mount hole center. Once you get the Jeep you will want to determine how much drop is needed to keep your boat trailer level. If you need help with this let me know the level coupler height of your boat trailer and the rear bumper height on your Jeep.

You will need a Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118786 to have a 4-way flat harness for your boat trailer to connect to the lights on your Jeep. In the event your trailer has surge brakes with an electric lockout a 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036 can be added to the 4-way allowing you to still use the electric reverse lockout.
