In order to add a 7 and 4-Way trailer connector to your 1997 Chevy C/K series truck you will first need to have a 4-Way installed if you do not already have one. For a 4-Way you can use # 118315. Then you would use 4- and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. This provides a 4/7-Way connector using the previously installed 4-Way for the light functions and also includes the wiring for the 12 volt circuit, reverse lights (if needed) and brake output. I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
If you also need to add a trailer brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885. This is one of our most popular controllers because it is reliable, easy to set up, and easy to use.
