For your 2022 Subaru Outback the best hitch for towing is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR. This is a custom fit Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 350 lbs. It also has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible below the bumper. This hitch features a rugged, matte black finish which will help hide dirt better than a glossy finish while providing rust and corrosion resistance.
I also recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. The T-One connector plugs into existing wiring, providing you with a 4-way connection to power your trailer's signal lights. We have found that when it comes to wiring, Tekonsha is the most reliable option.
If you need a ball mount, the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 is a good choice. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
