Can the SolidStep Fold-Down Steps Be Used on a Door with a Shock Absorber

Can the step be install with a door that has a shock absorber on the door

Yes, the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for doorways 25" to 28-7/8" # LC791574 can be installed on a door that has a shock absorber. But that does not mean it is going to work every time, it is really going to depend on how wide your doorway is and how far over the shock absorber comes. Typically the stairs fall in the middle of the door way with a pretty good gap on each side of that stairs and door way so it should clear the absorber on the way up. Then with the stair put up there is enough clearance for the shock absorber between the door and the stairs. I have included a picture that shows what the stairs typically look like when folded in. The mounting bracket is going to be 22-1/2" wide. If your shock absorber falls past that mark then the stairs will fit.
