Can I Just Use 1 Latch to Secure MORryde StepAbove RV Steps Inside Camper

Question:

MORryde steps and screen door The steps have a latch on the right side. The screen door pinches tight on the latch and wont close. Can I cut out the screen door frame around this area? Remove the right side latch and have the steps not fall into the camper while traveling? Or remove scree door completely?

Expert Reply:

The MORryde StepAbove RV Steps, like part # MR58RR, actually have an adjustment you can make on the latch that I recommend looking at before you start cutting into anything (see attached).

If you aren't able to adjust the latch so that you can properly close your screen door I recommend modifying the door as opposed to removing the latch as the steps are designed to use both right and left latches to secure the stairs during travel.
