Question:
What is the actual measurement from the side of the trailer when the stairs are horizontal to the ground when opening the unit? Worried about hitting a fence that is next to coach door. Unit is 2016 Montana 3160RL 5th Wheel, 42” entry height.

The SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps # LC791574 that you referenced have a travel/stored position height of 56-1/4 inches which would be the distance the steps would swing out from the RV when raising and lowering.
