The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, item # 118243, upgrades your vehicle 4-flat OEM wiring to a 7-way connector to fit the plug on your trailer. It will also replace a damaged 7-way OEM wiring harness. So unless you either need to upgrade or replace your plug, you will not need this.
To adjust a Voyager brake controller, you can make several slow stops around 25 mph, as if you are coming up to a stop sign, and take notice of how the trailer brakes respond. If the brakes grab too much, you have an aggressive setting. To correct this, rotate level knob clockwise, towards you. If the trailer is tending to push the tow vehicle, you have a delayed setting. To correct this, rotate the level knob counter-clockwise, away from you. Repeat these steps until your desired braking is achieved.
