Does the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver Cause a Blind Spot on 2016-2019 Chevy Volt?
Question:
When installed, doesnt the EcoHitch crossbar and receiver tube block the RF sensor from seeing whats going on behind the vehicle? If nothing else, it seems like it would created a blind spot for the sensor as far as anything approaching from the right side of the vehicle. Wouldnt it be better to try to DIY mount the RF sensor centered above the EcoHitch receiver tube? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
No, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7338 doesn't create a blind spot. That RF sensor that sits behind the bumper trim and bumper bar gets moved at the 8 min mark in the installation video I have attached. The proximity and back up sensors are inside the bumper trim. When the hitch receiver is installed its behind the license plate bracket and completely hidden.
