Is There a Harness That Goes Between Truck and Trailer When Using Dutton-Lainson Electric Winch

Question:

I bought the electrical package for the Dutton boat winch which I will attach to my pickup. Is there a pigtail that goes from the back of the pickup to the winch? If I use the 25 ft wire attached to pickup I have to coil up the extra length of wire. That doesnt make sense!

In regards to the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch part # DL25215, the winch wiring harness is designed to attach to a vehicle battery and then run from the front back to the bumper so you can attach to the winch on the trailer when needed. There will be extra wire that will be simply coiled up and stored on the truck while not in use. If you wanted to cut the wire at the bumper you could then make a quick-connect system between the truck and trailer using the extra wire and Dutton-Lainson Electrical Quick Connects part # DL24085.
