Dimensions of etrailer Lock for Surge Brake Trailer Couplers

Question:

What is the length of the rod between the two ends? Is it 3-3/8in of clear rod length or is that measurement from the very tip of one end to the other? Also, what is the width of the rod? I have a very unusual trailer hitch. The hole that locks the trailer hitch onto my truck is only 1/4 of an inch wide, and has to have something 3 inches across long that will slide through it to lock.

The etrailer.com Lock for Surge Brake Trailer Couplers, part # e98888, should work for your trailer hitch.
This product has a center span of 3-3/8 inches and a pin diameter of 1/4-inch. The center span is the space between the two black end pieces.

Since you need 3 inches of pin length this part should work just fine as it provides 3-3/8 inches. It has an overall tip-to-tip length of 6-3/4 inches.

This part is available in keyed-alike multiples if required.
