I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, you will not be able to remove your Yakima lock core without a Replacement Control Key for Yakima Same Key System # Y8007835. It is important to note that the lock core must be unlocked using your cut key before using this control key to remove the lock core.

I checked with Yakima and the lock housing you purchased is still being made so you should just need a 2-pack of lock cores, #Y07202. It comes with 2 locks, 2 keys, and the change key to install the locks.
