Troubleshooting 5th Wheel Trailer Wiring of 2017 Ford F-350 that Stopped Working

Question:

We just got a 2017 Ford F-350 Park at. It came with a BandW turnover ball gooseneck hitch with the BandW frame installed under the bed its not the Ford hitch prep puck system. There is a 7-pin plug installed in the sidewall of the bed. I had a local dealer install a BandW Companion hitch for my new fifth wheel trailer. When I plug into the sidewall plug, I get no power to the trailer lights. If I plug into the 7-pin plug in the bumper, everything works properly. Im looking for guidance on troubleshooting the sidewall plug so that both it and the bumper plugs work correctly. Im hoping there are some easy things to try first before taking things apart.

The 5th wheel trailer wiring you have installed on your 2017 Ford F-350 is going to be like the # 41157 which only has two connections that you'll need to check. But since the rear 7-way is working that would indicate that the issue is the connection to the 7-way that's in the bed of your truck that's got an issue. Try unplugging it and firmly plugging it back in so that all of the pins seat firmly.
