7-Way Trailer Wiring Connection for 2001 Leisure Travel Class B RV Built on Dodge Van Chassis
Question:
I own a 2001 Leisure Travel Class B RV built on a Dodge 3500 Ram Van chassis. I would like to use the factory installed class IV hitch, but Ill need trailer light connections. I was able to locate the Dodge rectangular plug that is capped so it looks like the C57300 would work for me. I also plan on using a #18136 mounting bracket with it, but wanted to ask which 7 blade connector receptacle should I use. The video review shows on, but there was no mention of the part#. I saw the HM42190 and it looks like it might be a better alternative because it appears to include everything I need. My only concern is that pigtail doesnt seem to be as long as the one with C57300. This is only an issue because Dodge connector doesnt seem like it has a lot of slack and it is off to the side of hitch. Also looks like I might have to cut bottom of plastic bumper to install mounting plate. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

For your 2001 Dodge Van the correct 7-way that would connect directly to the square connection you found is the part # 20135 which comes with a 7-way bracket as well. It's hard to say what would be best place to mount the 7-way based on your bumper setup though as you'd probably have to just test out a few locations.
