How Does the Curt Echo Work If I Lose My Phone or My Phone Dies?
Question:
2021 Suburban LT - just used the echo on a trip up north this weekend. It was an easy install and setup. Conversation in the sub raised the question about whether the controller cares if the phone is still there once it is set up and you are underway. How does the C51180 work if I lose my phone or my phone dies? Im assuming that once the profile is active it should provide proportional control whether I my phone in the lake or not ...not that I would ever my phone in the lake because that would just be dumb

You have to use your phone to set up the Curt Echo item # C51180. You will need to use the app to adjust the brake controller to your vehicle and trailer. If you lose your phone or it dies the echo will continue to work as a proportional controller, however you won't be able to manually stop the trailer through the app or adjust the settings.
