Can Gen-Y Torsion Ball Mount Be Used To Flat Tow 2021 Jeep Wrangler and Carry Stow Away Box?

Question:

Hi, I have a 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer, 2” receiver, planning to flat tow a 2021 Wrangler sport 2 door. I’m planning on a Blue Ox Avail tow bar. Now, I’d also like to mount a Stow Away box on the RV. Searching your site I’ve been intrigued by the Gen Y product line. 1- would you suggest a torsion flex hitch for a smoother ride? Is it overkill flat towing a Jeep? 2- does the hitch allow for a level transition from my RV receiver to my Blue Ox bar? 3- can I turn the hitch upside down to raise my Stow Away box above the tow bar? Can you suggest a product to help me? My RV dealer has taken a hands off approach bad experience I guess but I have seen similar setups at my RV storage garage. Thanks

The Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise - 10,000 lbs # 325-GH-1024 is a great option for attaching the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420 to your 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer with a 2" receiver, and it will give you a smoother ride.

With that said a standard non-cushioned ball mount like the # 325-GH-324 would be just fine, as the torsion-flex technology would be a bit over kill for what you are wanting to do. This option would would be quite a bit more cost effective.

Either hitch may allow you to get your tow bar level to your Tiffin's receiver, but the only way to be sure is measuring from the ground to the top inside edge of the hitch on your receiver, and then from the ground to the center of the base plate arm that the tow bar installs to. To use the Avail on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport you will need to use the Blue Ox Baseplate Kit # BX1139. You need the tow bar to be within 3" of level, so once you take your measurements you will know what rise/drop Gen-Y hitch you will need.

Given that you are able to level your tow bar correctly, you can absolutely flip it over and add your Stow Away Box into one of the unused receivers given that you do not exceed the tongue weight rating of the hitch or your motorhomes trailer hitch receiver.

To finish your flat tow setup you will still need tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking kit. My recommendations are as follows:

Tow bar wiring: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit # RM-152-1676-7

Supplemental Braking System: Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR w/ 12v Outlet Kit # RM-9332

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
