Clearance for 2000 F-250 OEM spare tire 265/75/16 = 31.6in OD Fitment with Curt Receiver Hitch
Question:
It is clearly stated that a 20inch wheel will not fit with this hitch, but it is not the wheel that matters - its the tire diameter. Why no one uses the tire OD dimension is beyond any reasonable logic... Since my OEM hitch curves around the spare tire and this hitch is straight, I am not confident the OEM size spare will still fit. Truck is a year 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty with 265/75/R16 tires, which are 31.6 inches on the outside diameter. Will this spare tire fit with this C15410 hitch?

Expert Reply:
The Curt hitch item # C15410 is straight and sits completely underneath the bumper of your Ford F-250. After looking at installation pictures and comparing them to your F-250 picture I do not see where there would be clearance issues with your OEM spare tire. Any spare tire that you have that is within the size width of 31.6 inches will fit with this specific Curt Receiver hitch. I have reached out to one of our installers and confirmed that this hitch does not have any clearance issues with a 20" OEM spare tire. Your Ford 2000 F-250 Super Duty truck is a confirmed fit on both our website and Curt's website for this hitch receiver. I have linked a couple installation videos.
