Is 18" The Tire Or Wheel Size That Fits With etrailer Trailer Hitch e98840 On 2017 Acura MDX?
Question:
Dumb Question, the description for the trailer hitch states it will not fit with a spare tire bigger than 18. When I measure the spare tire, is the 18foot the diameter of the rim only or the entire tire?

That is actually a great question!
The actual wheel will need to be 18" or smaller for it to fit after installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98840 on your 2017 Acura MDX.
You will not need to actually measure the wheel, just look for the tire size on the spare tire and the last two digits will be the wheel size. For example if your MDX has the standard 245/60R18 tires, then the 18 at the end means the wheel is 18" in diameter and would fit just fine with this hitch.
If you are planning on towing with your MDX you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 118628 and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
I included installation videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
