Which Boat Guides Should I Get For My 22 Foot Tritoon Boat?
Question:
Maybe you can help me out. I’m looking at getting a set of guides for my 22’ tritoon. I originally liked the idea of the inside style. However, I have splash guards on the front of each pontoon that have a concave shape as well as lifting strakes. My concern is that the inside style, whichever one they may be, might get caught in the splash guard as I approach. Ramp depth will dictate how deep I have to back in so I may not have a choice in that regard. I’m leaning toward just getting the 60” outside guides because of this, but I do like the idea of the inside guides being more of a “clean” package. Figured I’d pick your brains first. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the photos, nice boat! I think with a boat of that size, you would be better off getting the large post-style guides as the smaller ones may not be sufficient and would be harder to see. I would go with the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Tall # CE27640. These fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall; for frames that are up to 5-1/4" tall you will also need to get Extra-Long U-Bolt Kit # CE11416.
I attached a helpful demonstration video for you to check out.
