Your 2005 Chevy Express 3500 left the factory across the street from our facility as a Van cutaway chassis and was delivered to an upfitter that installed the bus body onto it and joined it with the cab portion of the van.
Because there are many different upfitters, we have no way of knowing how the rear bumper is situated in regard to the frame, so it's very likely that the hitch that fits the passenger or cargo van models wouldn't be a fit, as their bumpers don't hang as low.
We might have a solution, though but you'll need to take a couple of quick measurement to confirm. You'll need to measure downward from the underside of the frame member until you reach the bottom edge of the rear bumper. This vertical distance is known as the hitch drop. If the underside of the frame members is at the same height as the bottom edge of the bumper, you can use a zero-drop hitch like # 3371801050. For a 9 inch drop, use the Curt # C37CR. These hitches are weld-on applications.
