Is There a Bolt On Bracket For Safety Chains on a Trailer

Question:

Hello, do you sell a bolt on bracket to attach safety chains to a trailer? The original welded on bracket is broken and I need a new attachment point. Thank You

I may have a solution for you but I'm not aware of a bolt on safety chain bracket or clevis that can be used. However you can simply take a safety chain set (or your existing chains) like the 42" Long Safety Chain with 3/8" Clevis Hook (15,000 lbs) # 337BSC3842 and use a grade 8 bolt to attach the chains directly to the trailer with a washer holding the bolt through the last chain link. I've linked some photos that show how to make this work for you but that would be my suggestion if you're needing to avoid repairing the weld on the existing bracket. You will need to drill into the trailer frame for this.

You can source your grade 8 bolts locally.
