Flat Tow 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Question:

What parts do I need to tow a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport behind my Fleetwood Flair 29M RV? It has a stock front bumper. Additionally, do you have a recommendation for install near OKC Oklahoma? Thanks!

Unfortunately we do not maintain a list of recommended install shops however, these items are so well developed they they install rather easily. In addition we have installation videos made for many products. I will link a few these for you as well as creating a parts list. Any reputable mechanic shop that you trust will have full ability to make proper install of these items. You may even decide to install them yourself after reviewing installation videos. For flat towing your 2020 Jeep Gladiator, you're going to need 5 main components: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. Some of these are vehicle specific, others are universal.

Please see links for each item below:

Base plate kit, I suggest the Roadmaster # RM-521453-5 . This is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Jeep Gladiator. With this you get a clean, factory look for your Jeep when it's not being towed by using these invisible base plates. Tabs remain on tow bar arms and easily secure to base plate receivers. Have a simple, bolt-on installation with included hardware. Please note the installation video showing installed on a 2020 model Jeep.

For your tow bar, I suggest the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520. This is a hitch mounted type tow bar with telescoping arms that lock into place having a large hookup radius allowing for connection to Jeep without having to perfectly align vehicles.

For proper lighting operation, you will need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751497. You will also need to have safety cables such as the Roadmaster Single Hook # RM-643.

My recommendation for supplemental braking is the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700 which gives you automatic, real-time braking in your Jeep Gladiator. The actuator box installs permanently so that you never have to remove, adjust or reactivate and this system connects to your RV and engages car brakes when the RV brake lights illuminate.

You have the option of leaving the tow bar attached to the motorhome while not in tow, if you choose to you may want cover it with the Roadmaster Tow Bar Cover, # RM-055-3.

And finally, you may/may not require the use of a high-low adapter. I have attached a link to a help article "HOW TO CHOOSE A HIGH-LOW ADAPTER" to assist you in making this determination. To flat tow your vehicle behind your RV the tow bar adapter is used to raise or lower the height of the tow bar to the "Safe Zone". The "Safe Zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3" above level to 3" below level. A tow bar adapter will provide the necessary rise/drop to get into the "Safe Zone". Discover this by measuring from the ground to the center of the base plate kit on your 2020 Jeep Gladiator and compare that to the measurement from the ground to the top of the inside edge of the hitch on your motorhome. If this distance is not within 3" of one another then you want to use a high-low adapter. Please note the link to a selection of adaptors attached.

Several product review and installation videos of the items discussed here have been linked. I hope they are of value to you and can provide the needed information. Please let us know what other assistance we can provide. Happy Camping.
