How to Add 7 Way Trailer Connector to Vehicle with 4 Way Connector

Question:

Hi, I have a 4-way flat on my vehicle and a 7 blade female on my pop-up RV. I think I need this: https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Mighty-Cord/A10-7084VP.html But is looks like its made to be installed permanently, and I have my 4-way nicely hidden in the trunk. Is there a more streamlined version? Like this but the adaptor going in the other direction? https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Optronics/A57WB.html Thanks,

I have a solution for you, but there is not a true adapter for a vehicle with a 4 way connector to adapt to a trailer's 7 way. You will need to install a 7 way connector to your tow vehicle using the existing 4 way connector and something like the Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 7-Way RV Style - 12" Long # A10-7084VP. You'll plug your vehicle's 4 way into the 4 way vehicle end on the Mighty Cord and then make connections for the remaining needed functions for your trailer (auxiliary power, brake controller, reverse lights and ground).

If the trailer has brakes, let me now and I can recommend a brake controller for you.
