Upgrading from 185/80-13 to 205/75-14 Tires On a Boat Trailer

Question:

I would like to replace the wheels and tires on my 2010 Karavan B-2450-74 boat trailer. Pulling a 18’ 2000lb. vessel on ST185/80D13C tires. Requesting your recommendation for the widest wheelandtire option available for traversing loose rock and sand. Please advise if I will also need to replace the trailer fenders to accommodate increased wheel width. See attached files for additional trailer and tire specs. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated.

In order to switch from 185/80-13 trailer tires to a wider option you'll have to go up to a 14" wheel, the 205/75-14 is my recommendation. It's 1.7" larger in diameter and .8" wider. For this, I recommend the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Tire w 14" Condor Aluminum Wheel part # LH37VR which will be perfect for boat trailers.

In order to make sure the new size will fit you do have to measure the available space but remember, you only need to account for half of the above dimensions when measuring.
