Platform Bike Rack and Hitch for 2019 Toyota Prius
Question:
I have a 2019 Toyota Prius XLE, and I need to install a hitch and a bike hitch rack. The recommendation on your site is for a Class 1 hitch with a 1-¼ inch receptacle. Also I need a platform style bike hitch rack because we prefer the that style, and our mtbs are small and the top tube is almost non-existent with the rear suspension shock mounting in the way. However, it looks like your and many other brands platform bike hitches are all Class 2 or above? Do they not also offer 1-¼ inch ion point? Are they too heavy for the Class 1 hitch?

There is one option available in a 2" receiver hitch for your 2019 Toyota Prius, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver, # EH53VR. Such as the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, # HLY94FR. This is a great bike rack for the price. This option is what I suggest. The hitch is cost effective, will exceed the needed weight requirement and the bike rack exceeds what you identify as needed for bikes.
