Should An Offset Wheel Be Used On A Large Trailer

Question:

I recently bought a Genesis Tri toon trailer. It is a 2007 tandem axel with all four wheels having a 10” brake drum. The vin #5KYMB262871002569. It has 12” wheels. I have been told it needs to be an offset wheel. I’m looking at your offset wheels and I wonder 1 Will they fit and secondly if they don’t can i send them back without paying a shipping cost. I live in the area code of 48626

Most trailer wheels have a zero offset because the weight of the trailer and load needs to be centered on the tire. It is not recommended to use an offset wheel on a larger trailer for that reason. Paying the additional shipping cost would be up to how the company has it set up. I am not in that department but you can contact our customer service at 800-298-8924. I recommend going with a wheel and tire combo like the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12" Galvanized Spoke Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D Item # AM31202. Radial tires are going to ride much better than a bias-ply tire.
