How To Stop Sway When Towing 30 Camper With Reese Weight Distribution Hitch W/ Sway Control

Question:

I have a 2019 F150 4X4. I tow a 30ft camper that weights about 7500 lbs. I get a little tail swap from the camper after hitting a bump, getting passed by semis or on windy days.. What do you recommend to help reduce the sway. I am already using a Reese weight distribution hitch with sway control.

Expert Reply:

If the Reese Weight Distribution Hitch you are using uses friction sway control and you are only using one bar I recommend adding another of the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 as two are recommended for trailers over 26' long like your 30' camper.

Another option is to add electric sway control like the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 which monitors the movement of your trailer and applies your electric trailer brakes as needed to prevent any sway from happening.

This option is the most effective as it is stopping sway before it occurs where friction sway control is getting it under control as it is occuring.

I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
