Correct Brakes for Big Tex Tandem Axle Trailer with 8-249 Hub

Question:

Hi Folks, I have a old Big Tex dual axle trailer. I need new brakes. There is a 3 diameter hole and four bolts in a square 2 7/8 on center. The hub castings have a number - 8-249. Can you tell me anything about the axle and replacement brakes? Maker and model? Thanks for the help,

It looks like you have a Dexter 3,500 Lb Axle so in order to replace the braking assemblies you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA. If you want to replace the hubs as well then you can use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 84556UC3-EZ.
