Ground Clearance Curt Front Hitch 31310 on 1996 Ford F-350

Im wondering what the clearance will be on a front hitch installed on a 96 Ford F350 7.3 Diesel. Thanks

We haven't had the opportunity to obtain video footage of the # 31310 front mounted hitch install, but given the to-scale diagram I've provided from the installation instructions, once the hitch is installed the top of the receiver tube will sit about one inch below the underside of the bumper. This would put the underside of the receiver about 4 inches below the underside of the bumper. So, to see how much ground clearance you'll have just measure the distance from the underside of the bumper to the ground and subtract 4 inches.
If you're concerned about the receiver getting snagged on anything, there is a hitch mounted skid plate available as part # 6771 that you might be interested in. A hitch pin, part # PC3 or a stainless steel locking hitch pin like part # e98882 is also available.
