Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Harness Installation on 2020 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Very easy to install trailer wiring harness. I have a tech question ? Everything works as it should except the right turn signal. Vehicle says turn light out and blinks fast. If I unhook the wiring harness on the right side only and hook up the factory plug the turn signal works fine. Can you help me fix ? 2020 jeep Cherokee

We can absolutely help you troubleshoot this. When installing a wiring harness like the Curt # C56406 on your 2020 Jeep Cherokee, this most commonly occurs when one of three things happens; either the plug is not seating correctly with the harness, there is a blown or missing fuse, or the ground wire is not sufficiently connected. In this case, checking the ground connection is always the easiest and first thing to look at; check to make sure it is firmly connected to a paint and debris free spot on the frame of the vehicle.
Next, I would make sure everything is seating correctly on the wiring harnesses and that none of the pins have been bent; if there is any damage you'll want to try to straighten everything out and re-connect. You can also check your vehicle's fuse diagram to see if there are any fuses associated with towing that might be affecting this.
Check those things out and if you're still not getting the blinker back up and running when the harness is connected, just let me know and I can give you a few other things to check out. I've also linked our helpful article on troubleshooting 4 and 5 way wiring harnesses that you might find helpful.
