For wiring to add a brake controller to your tear trailer when towing with your 2014 Honda Odyssey, the vehicle must first have a 4-way wiring harness. If you need a 4-way, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118521. This harness comes with a better converter box than the Curt # C56378 or the Hopkins # HM11143114.

Once the 4-way is installed, you are ready for the 7-way. For that harness, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7.

If you need help installing these harnesses, I went ahead and attached installation videos with a 2014 Honda Odyssey.

For the brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller that requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. If you decide to go with the Voyager, you need the additional plug-in harness # 20127. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.

If you need a hitch for the setup, I it is important to note that your 2014 Honda Odyssey has a 3,500 pound maximum gross towing rating. For a hitch that will provide you with the maximum capacity, I recommend the Curt - 2" # C13068. It is important to make sure that your tear trailer falls under 3,500 pounds of towing weight in order to safely tow. I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure you are abiding by all manufacturer guidelines.
