Troubleshooting Jeep Computer Issues with Diodes Installed on 2020 Jeep JL with LED Tail Lights

Question:

Are you familiar with any issues with use with 2020 Jeep JL with factory LED tail lights? Ive installed and lights work but jeep computer issues suddenly have other systems down. Presumably due to diode not allowing system test functions.

I reached out to my contact at Roadmaster and there are a few things to look out for when installing the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. First step would be to make sure that the vehicle fell asleep before you started unplugging things. If you didn't wait for it to fall asleep then that would be why you are seeing codes and you should be able to take your JL to your nearest Jeep dealer to clear the codes.

The second thing to note is that you need to install the diodes on the vehicle side of the wiring for the tail lights, especially if you have the collision sensors on your Jeep. For some reason it matters where the diodes are installed in regards to the collision sensors. I have attached some photos directly from Roadmaster that shows how to properly install their diode kit, plus you can referenced the attached installation video of the Roadmaster Kit # RM-154 on a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited starting at the 3:45 minute mark.

If you are having some other kind of issue please let me know and I can help you look into it further.
