Is There a Class III Hitch for a 1994 Chevy Caprice
Question:
I am interested in buying a class III hitch for the above mentioned vehicle. My Caprice has the LS-1 engine designation 5.7L. According to the owners manual GM says it is capable of towing 5,000 lbs. with a weight distribution hitch. That is why Im interested in a class III, the class II do not offer a weight distribution option. Secondly, I understand that most or all class III are engineered for ladder type frames and not perimeter. I would also like to know if welding or custom harder would be needed to make a class III work with my vehicle.

I do have an option for you but there is only one trailer hitch option for a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice and that's the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12009 which is a class II. It however can still be used for towing up to 3,500 lbs but there would be no options for weight distribution. I do understand you want to use a class III hitch and weight distribution system but that won't be an option.
