Troubleshooting Install of Turn Signal Converter Not Functioning on Trailer with Separate Lights
Question:
I hope you can help. I added single wire lights to the side of my trailer and tapped into the signal wire at the rear light on each side. it was a stop/signal combo wire. is there a way to split the signal at the light? I tried a CURT 56196 on each side but they just passed the power through, didnt split it. Any ideas?

The Curt taillight converter part # C56196 is what is recommended for your situation where the turn signal gets separated from the stop light. I am not sure what the light's function you were trying to get separated out or how you have it wired but hopefully it's just a matter of wiring the box up a different way.
