Front Mounted Receiver Hitch for 2007 Sierra Classic

Question:

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD classic body style, it appears that width between the frame rails between my model and the 2007 new body style are identical. Will the draw tite 65050 front mounted hitch work on my vehicle? if not can you tell me why not? I really dont want the hitch receiver below or near the bottom of my front air dam, If the 65050 cannot be modified to fit are there other options?

Unfortunately, the frame with isn't the only consideration. According to Draw-Tite, the differences in the way the front bumper, fascia and grill are situated in regard to the front of the frame members on a 2007 Classic versus a 2007 New Body will prevent the # 65050 from being installed on a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic without extensive modification to the vehicle. I've provided a photo showing how the front clips are different on the 2 vehicles.

For your 2007 Sierra Classic, I'd recommend going with the US made Curt # 31108 as it and the Draw-Tite # 65028 are the only front mount hitch options we offer for a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic. I've linked you to installation instructions and an install video for the Curt # 31108.
