2020 Aliner Expedition Suspension Upgrade for Dexter 3,500 lb Torsion Axle

Question:

Hello I bought a new Aliner expedition this year. Just finished a 5000 mile trip. Only 10-20 miles on decent dirt road the rest on paved roads. Lots of loose screws etc. I'd like to upgrade the suspension to absorb the road bumps a bit more and Id also like to be able to get on some dirt roads without having to worry about the small bumps. A few more inches of clearance would be great as well. Current axle is Dexter #4229714 , 3500lbs, torsion type I think. Please advise. Ill be getting a shop to do the install I just want to make sure they do it with the right parts. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Based on the specifications that Dexter gave me for your axle, your axle is a 3,500 lbs torsion axle. We do not carry torsion axles, so the best upgrade for your trailer would be an axle-less suspension system. The axle-less system will be far easier to install and set up compared to a traditional straight-axle and leaf spring suspension system. It also provides more ground clearance and better ride quality. Since there is no axle connecting them, it allows the springs to absorb road shock independently from one another.

I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR3500S06. This system provides a 4" lift for improved ground clearance and has a 3,500 lbs weight capacity.

If you don't want to go with the axle-less system, you can use a Torflex Lift Kit # K71-723-01 to add some lift to your trailer. Unfortunately, there aren't any good upgrades for your existing suspension system, so replacing the torsion axle with an axle-less system will be the best solution there.
