Adding a vent to your 2000 Starcraft Venture 1706 Pop Up camper requires a few things. The roof opening has to be at least 14" x 14" and the roof thickness has to be between 2" to 6-1/2" thick. If you are replacing a current vent you can remove the inside garnish to measure the opening. A few other things I recommend when installing a new fan. You need 2 of the LaSalle Bristol XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant - White - Qty 1 Item # 34427034145-1. This is used to seal around the top edge and screws on the vent framing after it is installed in the roof opening.
I also recommend Alpha Systems Q130 Butyl Tape for RVs - 20' x 1" x 3/16" - Qty 1 Item # AL28FJ. This tape is placed on the bottom side of the vent framing that sits against the roof. The butyl tape seals not only around the screw holes but also around the opening in the roof. Once the vent is screwed down to the roof you add the self leveling sealant to provide a water tight seal.
