Best Trailer Hitch for 2016 Kia Soul

Question:

I have a 2016 Kia Soul. You offer 3 hitches for this car, 306-X7326, 24915 and C11419. Which one should I buy?

Each of the three hitches, EcoHitch # 306-X7326, Draw-Tite # 24915 and Curt # C11419, have different key features. They're all great hitches, but I'll give a brief summary of their pros and cons so you can decide which one best fits your needs.

The EcoHitch # 306-X7326 has a 2" receiver. It still has the same towing capacity as the other hitches (2,000 lbs trailer weight) but it has a higher tongue weight capacity at 300 lbs and its 2 inch receiver might be more preferable if you have 2" accessories and don't want to cut down your capacity by using a hitch adapter.

The Draw-Tite # 24915 is a 1-1/4" hitch like the Curt hitch. The advantage it has over Curt though, is that it does not require a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-trailer load. The downside is that some Draw-Tite Class I hitches refuse to accept Class II accessories due to an integrated stopper in the hitch.

The Curt # C11419 is a 1 1/4" Class I hitch, but does NOT have a stopper in it. This means you can attach Class I and Class II accessories, as long as you are mindful of not overloading your hitch. What might be an inconvenience, however, is that Curt requires the use of a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 when carrying non-trailer loads like bike racks or cargo carriers as per their warranty requirements.

All in all, I prefer the Draw-Tite hitch since it does not need a stabilizer strap. The EcoHitch is in a whole different price category and is ideal for people who really need to use 2" accessories AND maximize the full tongue weight capacity of their Class I hitch. For more general purposes, the Draw-Tite is still preferable. I attached videos of the install process for the Draw-Tite as well as the other hitches.
