Will the Amount of Titan Hitch Extender in Receiver Affect the Capacity on a 2012 Chevy Silverado
Question:
The 2 1/2 tube on the factory hitch is 6 1/2 inches in length with the pin hole at 3 1/2 inches from the back of tube. This means the extension will be 2 1/2 inches passed the end of factory tube toward the spare tire. Being that is not supported for the full lenght in the hitch will that change the weight rating of the extension?

Actually, since the maximum amount of the extension # RP45292 would be in the receiver based on the measurements you have provided, you will not see a drop of capacity on the extension. On a 2-1/2 inch receiver, it would be rare to see any drop of capacity even if using an extension because the 2-1/2 inchers are so robust.
