Curt 20k with slider and Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter Plate - B&W Turnover Ball
Question:
What is the rating on the Valley Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter Plate - BandW Turnover Ball V70881? Can I use my Curt 20K with R5 slider on it? My trailer is rated at less than 13K. My truck is a 2008 F-350 short bed 4x4 that has the BandW in it. I am using a BandW Companion 5th wheel hitch but the Curt is easier to operate because I can reach the handle and safty from the side of the truck. I still have the Curt 5th wheel hitch from my old truck and may use it if possible.

I spoke with my contact at Valley and the Valley Gooseneck-to-Fifth-Wheel Adapter Plate, # V70881, will not work with the Curt slider rails.
Instead, I would recommend using the Curt X5 Adapter Plate, # 16310. This adapter plate will work with your Curt fifth wheel hitch and slider rails and has a maximum weight capacity of 20,000 lbs. This adapter plate will work with the B and W square shank turnover ball hitch and retails at a lower price than the Valley adapter plate # V70881.
