Weight Distribution with Sway Control Recommendation for 2015 Kia Sedona

Question:

I have a Kia Sedona with a 3500 pound tow capacity and max 350 tongue weight. My trailer has a 290 Pound tongue weight and weighs 2360 dry. What would work. I’m finding systems with 400-600 pound tongue weight ranges. Can I go bigger or do I need to be in the middle range?

Expert Reply:

The best weight distribution system will be the Strait Line part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs (ideal for your trailer) and has the only sway control that works to prevent sway before it starts. Ideally you want the tongue weight of your trailer to fall right in the middle of the range of the system you go with. For a hitch ball you'd just need the part # A-90 then and you'd be set.
