Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2008 Kia Sedona and Trailer with 250 Pounds Tongue Weight
Question:
I have a 2008 Kia Sedona and just picked up a 2480 lb travel trailer. We did have alot of bobing on our first ride home with it and we do have about 2 inches of sag on the back end. I was wondering which you would recommend, getting the weight distribution hitch with sway control, and which one if so? 250lb tongue weight on a 350 lb rated v-5 hitch. Or would getting the Timbren upgrade be a better option?

It looks like all of the trailer hitches for the 2008 Kia Sedona are rated for use with weight distribution (check the vehicle owners manual to make sure the van is also rated for weight distribution) so I recommend going with it since weight distribution is the best option.
Given the low tongue weight of the trailer you can get a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds of tongue weight like # RP66540. You probably will not have much sway issues but you can add a friction sway bar # 83660 should you need it.
You will just need a properly sized ball for the trailer coupler. Use # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control for you.
