Hitch Recommendation for 2020 Hyundai Elantra to Carry Swagman XC Bike Rack
Question:
What hitch do I need with this rack? Will the rack fit more firmly with a 1 1/4 inch hitch as opposed to a 2 inch hitch? Is installation of the hitch a job best left to professionals? If so, who does such work? Thanks,

The Swagman XC bike rack part # S64650 installs equally as solid in both a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch hitch but for your 2020 Hyundai Elantra there are only 1-1/4 inch hitches available so that is the size you'd need like with the Curt part # C11509 if you have the GT Hatchback(excluding the N-Line and/or vehicles with dual exhaust) or the Draw-Tite # 24905 which also fits the GT Hatchback, but will not fit vehicles built in Korea. You can check door manufacture sticker or VIN with the second letter M denotes Korean-built.
Trailer hitches are very easily accomplished by a DIYer with basic hand tools. If you wanted to have someone install it though a local mechanic to you with a decent reputation would be who to check with. I also attached an install video for you to check out to see if it's something you'd feel comfortable doing.
If you go with the Curt hitch, you will also need a stabilizer strap # 18050.
