go power pre-wired automatic transfer switch

This transfer switch has been pre-wired to automatically change the primary source of AC current from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. To prevent electrical interruptions, the time delay circuit board allows the alternate power source to stabilize before a transfer occurs. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Quick, Easy Wiring

transfer switch wiring

The transfer switch includes an inverter output plug and converter charger input receptacle that help speed up installation time. The converter input is only active when shore power is available, ensuring the converter does not use battery power for charging.

Automatic Transfer Switch Installation

There are several wiring configuration options, depending on the electrical application inside your RV. With this quick connect version, you can easily plug into the inverter and converter charger with no wiring required. However, it does need to be wired to the AC panel and shore power input.

cord knockouts

The plastic case also has cord knockouts for other connections.

Wiring Example

transfer wiring example

In this wiring example, the transfer switch selects between the inverter and shore power (or an on-board generator). The converter is also capable of charging the batteries while shore power is active. Lastly, the AC panel is powered by either the inverter or shore power, depending on which is currently providing power at the time.

I installed this in our class C motorhome that I added an inverter to. I wanted to be able to use shore power, or the inverter, or the onboard generator without the need to turn the charger off. This transfer switch filled the bill! Works great, was fairly straight forward to install. Would highly recommend to anyone that needs 3 different power options for their RV.

  • How Does Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 Connect to Shore Power and Inverter
The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 that you are interested in was designed to automatically switch power sources between an inverter or an AC power source. You'd want to run the inverter you have now to this as well as the power source wiring from shore power and this would automatically take care of your AC power needs/switching. Basically your battery would connect to the inverter, the inverter to the # 34270278 and then the # 34270278 to your fuse panel. This does not...

  • Transfer Switch That Will Automatically Switch Between Inverter And Shore Power
Yes. The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch with Quick Connect Cables - Plastic Case - 30 Amp - 120V # 342GPTS will always run off shore power if it is present. Once the shore power is cut off it will switch automatically over to the inverter power. Once it senses shore power is restored it will switch back to it.

  • Difference Between Go Power 342GPTS and 34264403 30A RV Automatic Transfer Switches
Other than the fact that the Go Power # 342GPTS includes the inverter output plug and converter input receptacle, and the # 34264403 does not, there is no difference between the two.

  • Solution for Charging Lithium RV Batteries with Parallax 7345 Panel
Hey John, you'd need a new panel like the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini part # PD4045KA which is the most similar to your Parallax 7345 except is Lithium battery compatible. There isn't a lower section replacement available for what you have that would allow it to work with lithium batteries. You would not need to change your current transfer switch or add an additional one.

  • Is There A Power Draw On The Transfer Switch
Per the manufacturer The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS will have a slight draw but the value will be in milliamps between 3-5 milliamps. The transfer switch automatically reroutes your RV's AC input from the inverter power to shore power when activated. I attached a review video link below.

  • Is There a Transfer Switch That Can Take Input From Shore Power, Generator and Inverter Power?
With a transfer switch like the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS you would have to use a second Transfer Switch # PD5110010Q to connect 2 of the three sources. Your shore power cord could also be used with a separate plug in for a generator connection(This is how several RV's are from the factory), as you only have 2 inputs. Since there is not a single unit that can take power from 3 sources and have one output. We have the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger...

  • Transfer Switch for 2000 Excel With Solar and Generator
It really depends on your setup. More than likely your inverter isn't delivering 30 amps so a transfer switch like the # 342GPTS wouldn't work. It won't recognize anything under 30 so you would still have to switch back and forth yourself. 30 amp is also the lowest we carry. If it is delivering 30 amps then this would work for your application.

  • How Does An Automatic Transfer Switch Work And How Do You Wire It In With An Inverter
You can manually turn off power from your inverter before switching on your shore power, but most people find this tedious and you'll have a delay in power while you switch over. With an automatic transfer switch like the Go Power # 342GPTS all the work is done for you so that when you hook up to shore power it will automatically cut the power from your inverter and when you disconnect from shore power the it will switch back over to the inverter. • Troubleshooting Low Power from Shore to Transfer Switch
It sounds like you have a short in your Power Cord wiring as there isn't anything between the power cord and the Go Power Transfer Switch # 34270278 as they are directly wired. I've attached a video of the Go Power Transfer Switch - Quick Connect - 30 Amp # 342GPTS which shows these connections. If you don't use and in-line circuit breaker like # CAM55306 then there has to be an issue with the wiring or the ground on the transfer switch itself.

You can use this transfer switch to take your generator's AC output and deliver it to your battery charger to maintain your batteries.
