Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2019 Nissan Rogue and Thule Helium 3-Bike Rack
Question:
I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue SL. I want to put a hitch on it so that I can attach my Thule Helium Aero 3 bike rack. The bike rack can adapt to either a 2 or 1 1/4 receiver. Would you recommend a Class II or Class III hitch and why?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I recommend using a Class III hitch over a Class II because the Class III options have a 2" receiver whch tend to have higher weight ratings, are a little beefier, and they are compatible with more accessories than 1-1/4" receivers are.
For your 2019 Nissan Rogue SL I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e98846 because it has a hidden crosstube and a matte black finish. This means that you'll have a great looking receiver that will match the trim on your vehicle plus the matte black has more of an aggressive finish so it does a better job at hiding scratches and dings from road debris than the classic glossy black finish of the other trailer hitches.
This will work perfectly whether you have the newer Thule Helium Pro # TH9043PRO version of the older TH9043 (discontinued) version.
Attached is an installation video of our hitch on a 2018 Nissan Rogue as well as some photos for you to get a good idea of what it will look like.
